Tom has been living and working in New York since receiving a B.F.A. degree from the Cooper Union in 1993. He studied painting in Cortona, Italy and received the Ethel Cram Memorial Prize for Excellence in Art. He was a resident at the Blue Mountain Center and a colonist at the MacDowell Colony, and also took part in the Bronx Museumís Artist in the Marketplace Program. He has been interviewed on NPR radio in regard to his work in 2007. Tom's work has been exhibited in galleries and museums throughout the United States. Tomís artwork is included in numerous collections, including the Whitney Museum, the Baltimore Museum, MOMA, the Brooklyn Museum Library and Golden Artist Colors, Inc. among others.
